The Splendid Mariposa Lily (Calochortus splendens) is the most commonly seen mariposa lily in southern California. In central California it appears to be less common. It’s delicate pink flowers often dot grassy hillsides and is frequently seen in scrubby habitats. Native Southern California Lily Series. Original: Gouache painting (March 2005).
