The Allen’s Hummingbird (Selasphorus sasin) is essentially a California bird with just a bit of its northern range slipping into Oregon. The Fred M. Roberts original is a 8 x 10 gouache painted during August 2013 and inspired by a male that has been guarding our front yard for a couple of years. These hummingbirds seem a bit more aggressive then the Anna’s Hummingbird yet more timid around humans. The Anna’s will ignore my approach while Allen’s always fly. The art work is available as an 8 x 10 print or a 4.25 x 5.5 inch note card.
All prints are printed on archival fine arts paper and shipped with a foam board backing.
